Today is my very first niece's birthday. She turns 10 years old today. Happy Birthday Ellen Elizabeth! Here are some things that I remember, know, and love about her.
- She was born during a Packer game :-)
- She had the cutest little round head and blond curls when she was a baby
- I spent a lot of time babysitting her as much as I could when I first moved to the Twin Cities. It was actually one of the reasons that drew me here.
- She is such a smart girl - she loves reading, detective work, making inventions, figuring out hard video games, and doing word/number puzzles
- She loves to play games, and is getting so good at being okay with it if other people win. It's really fun to play rummy with her.
- When she first started to talk, she would call me Yah-Yah (for Sa-rah). When she could talk a little better, she would say Auntie Sah.
- She has a very tender heart for animals - she likes visiting with Reilly (and Domino when he'll let her)
- She likes ghost stories and scary movies.
- She does great impersonations, and likes to be silly sometimes.
- Even though she may not admit it all the time, I know she likes hugs from her Auntie Sarah!
We're going to have Indian food and a DQ birthday cake tonight to celebrate her 10 years. Happy birthday to you, Ellie!
