I couldn't quite believe this story at first. For the full details click on the colored kites. In Pakistan there is an annual festival where people fly kites and use them to fight and duel. Sounds kind of cool at first, but this year 8 children were killed. The kite strings are embedded with glass or steel wire to make them more durable and able to cut other strings. One girl's throat was slit by a kite string. In the spirit of fair and balanced reporting, you can click on the picture of the kites and the sunset for a more positive view of the festival.
