Paternity Leave

It's pretty fun to be home with Braden while Sarah goes to work. So far, we've had daddy/son trips to the fly fishing store, where I purchased supplies to start using the fly-tying tools I got for Christmas.

I was going to go the fly fishing store again today, but I got sidetracked at work. Oh! did I say work? I thought I just got done saying I was on leave. Well, yes. I did have to do some work. That's because on the second day of my leave, one of my staff called to tell me she had another job offer that didn't require her to work a split, gave her more hours, more money, and her own office. I couldn't compete. The next day, my other staff person told me she had gotten a new job. That was last week. This week, one of them has her last day on Wednesday, and the other on Friday.

To be honest, this wasn't a complete surprise, but I didn't expect it to happen so quickly. I hired another staff person today, and will have a sub come over from another site. It should work out okay.

The picture below kind of shows how I felt when all of my staff told me they were resigning.

It's so nice to see your son is already sympathizing with you!

It seems Braden understands work already...before you know it he will be offering you advice on communication strategies with unrulely children!
