Annual "Mommy-Free" weekend

I spent my annual summer weekend away from J and B this past weekend south of Milwaukee with my friend Jennifer. We always have a great time doing not much of anything, but then manage to fill the entire weekend with everything! Here's a brief rundown of all my fun...

We spent part of Friday in Chicago - here I am at Navy Pier. Not the nicest of weather, but still nice to walk around the shops and spend a little time outside.
We saw a production of this musical that evening. I really liked it! Some of the music was great, and I liked the staging of the show. Granted, it was a dark show, but quite well done. The best songs were the obvious ones that everyone likes - This is the Moment, Someone Like You, and In His Eyes.
On Saturday we did shopping, and then went to Mamma Mia. I don't care what any of the reviewers say (and I know you agree with me Jennifer!)...I loved it! I don't get to go to movies very often, and it was exactly what I was looking for in a summer care-free movie. Laughing, crying, and then the whole theater clapping at the end. So much fun!
I always feel bad because I don't think I provide as much entertainment and fun here in the Twin Cities as Jen does in good ol' Kenosha. But I'll try hard this winter to find all sorts of great things to equal the time I always have visiting her. Thanks for a fabulous weekend of catching up and wonderful friendship, Jen!
