I've been comparing notes with other mothers of young boys. To my relief, I've found out that slapping, grabbing, and pounding are common ways of expressing affection in all of them as well. Braden was constantly grabbing our glasses, especially mine, so we started saying "gentle" and taking his hand and caressing our cheek when he would do this. It's sort of funny to admit, but he's started saying gentle! It comes out more like "den-toe" but it's definitely the word. We haven't really been doing it all that long - since Labor Day weekend, but it must have stuck! I'm convinced he also uses "da-da" appropriately, and says "hahh" for hi. Much to my dislike, still no "ma-ma!"
Do you notice those two top teeth coming in on his left on that top picture? Kira tipped us off to teething tablets from our natural food store, and they have been great. We love them!
Standing up all over the place - he looks like such a little boy in this outfit. Cargo pants, army green onesie shirt, and bear robeez. Pretty cute!
