Braden Edward, Child of God

Baptism is something that our family honors in a special way. Braden's baptism this weekend was extra special because Sarah's father, Edward (from whom Braden gets his middle name), performed the baptism. Ed is a retired ELCA pastor. He and our pastor, Bob, have common sensibilities and appreciate traditions and liturgy in a similar way. Bob graciously offered Ed the role of Presiding Minister and assisted him.

Ed isn't shy about water. He made sure Braden got three really good pours, which washed all the way over his eyes. The little guy didn't seem to mind. He slept throught the whole thing.

After the Baptism, both of our families gathered at our place for some really good food including traditional family favorites: ham balls and frozen cranberry salad.

Sounds like this was a very special day for all of you! Kudos to Braden for remaining peaceful about it all :)
